History of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

The history of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was traced back to 1975. At the time the Nakhon Pathom Teacher College was administrated in accordance with the Teacher Colleges Act 1975. The College was divided into three departments: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Technology, and Education. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was developed from Social Studies program, Thai program, English program, Art Studies program, Music program and Dramatic Arts program. The Faculty was officially opened since the first semester of academic year 1976 with the Head of Department as the administrator.

After the Rajabhat Institute Act was promulgated on the 24th January 1995 and the Nakhon Pathom Teacher College was upgraded to “the Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute”, great change happened to the administration. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was renamed “the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the position of the head of department was changed to Dean.

In 2004, the Rajabhat University Act was declared; consequently, promoted the Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat Institute to “the Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University”.
