History of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University
1936
The institution was established as “Nakhon Pathom Women’s Teacher Training School” using the Nakorn Chaisri Provincial Registration Hall building located at No. 86, Tesa Road, Phra Pathom Chedi Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. It admitted only female students and offered training in elementary teacher education.
1960
Male teacher trainees were admitted to study alongside female trainees. The institution began offering the Certificate in Education Program (Por.Gor.Sor.) and launched the Rural Teacher Training Project.
1968
The name was changed from Nakhon Pathom Women’s Teacher Training School to Nakhon Pathom Teacher Training School.
1969
The institution relocated from No. 86 Tesa Road to No. 85 Malaiman Road (opposite Wat Mai Pinklao). It admitted students under the Primary Teacher Production Program (Por.Por.).
1970
On January 16, 1970, the institution changed its name from Nakhon Pathom Teacher Training School to Nakhon Pathom Teachers College and began offering the Higher Certificate in Education Program (Por.Gor.Sor. Higher Level).
1975
The college began operating under the Teachers College Act B.E. 2518 (1975), which significantly expanded its role and structure toward becoming a higher education institution. Section 5 of the Act stated that teachers colleges should serve as institutions for research and academic inquiry, produce teachers up to the bachelor’s degree level, promote professional standards among educators, preserve arts and culture, and provide academic services to communities. Nakhon Pathom Teachers College rapidly expanded its structure and educational responsibilities following the implementation of the Act.
1978
The college launched a two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program and initiated the first in-service teacher and educational personnel training project during the second semester.
1980
A four-year bachelor’s degree program was introduced.
1984
The Teachers College Act B.E. 2518 (1975) was amended to allow teachers colleges to broaden their missions and respond more effectively to societal needs. The revised Section 5 permitted teachers colleges to offer programs beyond teacher education.
1985
Nakhon Pathom Teachers College offered non-teaching associate degree programs for the first time, including five majors:
* Liberal Arts: Journalism and Public Relations, Design
* Science: Food Technology, Plant Science, Electronics
1986
The college expanded admissions in non-teaching disciplines and introduced bachelor’s degree programs in these fields for the first time. It also launched educational programs for in-service personnel at both bachelor’s and associate degree levels. The Demonstration School was established with two Grade 7 classrooms under the English-Mathematics program, using a renovated dormitory building as classrooms. At the same time, the Demonstration Kindergarten School, established in 1979, continued operating temporary classrooms for preschool levels.
1992
On February 14, 1992, His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the title “Rajabhat Institute” upon teachers colleges nationwide.
1995
The Rajabhat Institute Act was officially enacted on January 25, 1995.
1997
The university launched the Education for the People Program and began offering the Graduate Diploma in Teaching Profession Program.
1998
An educational center was established at Intertech Institute in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province, offering a master’s degree program in Educational Administration.
1999
Another educational center was established at Omyai Sophonchanupatham School in Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. Master’s degree programs in Development Social Sciences and Thai Studies were introduced. The Higher Education Center for In-Service Teachers also began admissions.
2000
Admissions began for the Higher Education Center for Community Leaders.
2003
A collaborative program with Samut Sakhon College of Education was established, and the Bachelor of Accountancy program was introduced for the first time.
2004
His Majesty the King graciously signed the Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547 (2004). It was published in the Royal Gazette on June 14, 2004, and became effective on June 15, 2004, officially granting university status.
2005
The university revised and developed curricula for the 2006 academic year and restructured general education courses in accordance with the standards of the Office of the Higher Education Commission.
2006
Six new programs were introduced:

2016

Twenty-six programs were revised across education, business, nursing, engineering, science, and humanities disciplines.
2017
Two new programs were introduced:
* Industrial Physics
* Computer Education
Eighteen curricula were revised, including programs in science education, mathematics, communication arts, business computer, logistics and supply chain management, computer science, digital art design, tourism business services, curriculum and instruction, and physics.
2018
Two programs were revised:
* Civil Engineering
* Graduate Diploma in Teaching Profession
2019
Seventeen Bachelor of Education programs were revised from five-year to four-year curricula, including Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Social Studies, Music Education, English, Thai, Chinese, Art Education, Mathematics, General Science, Computer Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Arts, and Business Education.
2020
The General Education curriculum and Bachelor of Laws curriculum were revised. Two new undergraduate programs were introduced:

2021
